Will My Information Be Shared With Others?
Overall data may be shared with other academics and social scientists for research, but your private information will always be protected to the best of our ability. We do not share information with 3rd parties for the sake of marketing, promotion, or data-mining. This data is for scientists and people like you.
Why Do I Have To Answer So Many Questions?
We ask a lot of questions for two reasons. First, we want to look for scientifically demonstrable themes within and between paranormal experiences. The only way we can do that is to ask a lot of questions and have participants complete various scientifically vetted scales. Second, the questions we ask make sure that the responses we get, and share with you are as reliable and valid as possible.
Does Your Staff Believe In The Paranormal?
Most of our members have had personal paranormal experiences, or helped with academic research based in scientifically captured anomalous experiences. However, we also have skeptics within our organization. We want to assure you that this site is a safe place for you to be honest about your experiences. Our belief does not matter, only your experiences and what they meant to you.
What Specific Questions Are You Hoping To Answer With the PER?
There are literally hundreds of questions that we have. At the heart of it, were hoping to isolate the core stimuli or events that happen to people that define the experience as paranormal. There are hundreds of beliefs about paranormal experiences, were trying to figure out which ones seem to be verifiable by people’s experience. We hope as we collect more and more responses that we can provide some definitive answers to the nature, behavior, and outcomes of paranormal experience.
